Permaculture in Five Days

Course Cancelled. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Permaculture in Five Days course planned for July 2014. We hope to be able to offer it again next year.

Do you want to learn about permaculture but can’t take a whole two weeks out of your life to go on the Design Course? Then Permaculture in Five Days was designed for you. In just five days, two of which are a weekend, you get the vital part of the longer course.

That vital part, the part you can’t get out of books, is the experience of actually doing permaculture design with the guidance of your tutor. Many participants have said this is the part of the course where they learned the most. So Permaculture in Five Days centres on a series of three main design exercises, in which you prepare a design for a domestic garden. In addition there are shorter desk-top exercises, slide shows, talks, walks and discussions.

The tutors are Patrick and Cathy Whitefield, with guest tutor Colum Pawson, organic gardener.

The venue, Maiden Croft Farm, is set in glorious Somerset countryside just outside Glastonbury. It includes Colum’s excellent organic garden, which supplies vegetables to the town and to our course. We make full use of the garden as a teaching resource.

On site accommodation is in dormitories plus a limited number of single and double rooms, if you want to pay a little extra for privacy. It’s also possible to camp or bring a caravan. Accommodation includes all meals.
