Caroline teachingHosted at the Sustainability Centre in the beautiful South Downs of Hampshire, this 5-day course will introduce participants to a permaculture perspective on producing your own food including:

  • Crop planning
  • Growing Methods
  • Crop and Soil Maintenance
  • Harvesting timings and methods
  • Storing and preserving produce.

We will cover the principles of no-dig gardening, polycultures and perennials, and offer hands-on experience of the methods involved.

If you are interested in growing your own food, whether a beginner or a seasoned grower, there will be advice on every step of the process which can help you make the best of the space available to you and the fruits of your labour.

The course will be taught by Caroline Aitken and will involve outdoor practical sessions, indoor classroom sessions and a mix of activities, slide shows, walks and demonstrations to bring the content to life.

Lunch will be provided and the cost is included in the course fee. Weatherdown Lodge has self-catering facilities which are also available to campers.
