Held at the stunning High Heathercombe Centre in Dartmoor this 4-day course will introduce participants to a permaculture perspective on growing your own food including:
- Crop planning
- Growing Methods
- Crop and Soil Maintenance
- Harvesting timings and methods
- Storing and preserving produce.
We will cover the principles of no-dig gardening, polycultures and perennials, and offer hands-on experience of the methods involved.
If you are interested in growing your own food, whether a beginner or a seasoned grower, there will be advice on every step of the process which can help you make the best of the space available to you and the fruits of your labour.
The course will be taught by Caroline Aitken and will involve outdoor practical sessions, indoor classroom sessions and a mix of activities, slide shows, walks and demonstrations to bring the content to life.
Fees cover all costs including wonderful home-cooked meals made from local organic produce (where ever possible); bunkhouse accommodation with a stunning view; teaching and tuition; a great experience!
